Process: OurStreets started as the How’s My Driving twitter bot, which allowed people to tweet a license plate number to the account and receive a vehicle’s traffic citation history from the DMV’s public database. Growing it from a twitter bot to a mobile app was a challenge, and as the only non-developer on the team, I handled everything that wasn’t code: conducting user interviews, wireframing in Sketch, and developing branding and marketing. Together, we reached 50,000 users and 30 partnerships with advocacy organizations and transportation departments.
